It is classed as a non-dangerous chemical and registered internationally as such with Oeko-Tex Zurich. Environmentally tested HealthGuard is the only product of its type to receive Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) approval. Its efficacy is shown to inhibit a wide range of microorganisms including bacteria, moulds, yeasts and algae. Most significant of which is its resistance to Staphylococcus aureus MRSA A129.
